Today is a very special day for me (and Brad), it is our 28th Wedding Anniversary! We have a fun day planned, a round of golf followed by dinner out and then a movie. I couldn’t ask for anything more, the entire day spent with my love, doing the things that we love, sigh… it doesn’t get any better than this!!!
The card I am sharing with you today is one I created for Brad, I hope he likes it!
For Brad’s card I combined 3 different stamp sets, Pieces & Patterns for the sentiment, Lovely Inside & Out for the lion’s mane and then Foxy Friends for the lions face. What do you think, did I do a good job creating a lion from the two different sets??
I also used the new Embossing Paste on my card, it was my first time playing with it and I have to say…. I Love It!!! It is so easy to use and adds a little something extra to the card I think.
To create my cute little lions mane I took the fringed circle stamp from the Lovely Inside & Out (do you remember when I did my video of me opening my Pre-Order and I showed this stamp set and said I had an idea for this set??? Well this was my idea, I love how it turned out!), inked it up in Crushed Curry, then took my Soft Suede Marker and randomly coloured in areas of the fringe. I then stamped this onto a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock.I then took my Stampin’ Spritzer (filled with water)and gave it a light mist to soften the lines and blend the colours a bit.As you can see, I took my Paper Snips and trimmed out pieces of the circle to give it more of a lions mane look.
I used the cat face and head shape (at least that’s what I think it looks like) from the Foxy friends stamp set (head in Crushed Curry, eyes, noes, mouth and whiskers in Soft Suede) and stamped it on a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock and then punched it out using my Fox Builder punch. I aslo tucked some Copper Metallic Thread behind my lion.Seriously, how cute is he!!!!
For my Embossing Paste, I used just 1 drop of Crushed Curry Ink Refill, a little goes a long way! I paired it with the diamond shape mask from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks, so much fun!!!
