Hi everyone!
I hope you had a wonderful weekend!!
Saturday morning I went to the Farmers Market that they set up in our downtown, they actually close off part of the main street and have farmers and other local vendors selling their produce and products. I go every Saturday I can.I just love my fresh fruits and vegetables!!
I bought 4 dozen cobs of corn, 3 for freezing and 1 for eating.
Would you believe that I went from this
to this
and finally this, in about an hour and a half!!
It really does not take long to get summer fresh corn prepared and into bags for the freezer, the best part will be enjoying the taste of summer in the middle of winter!!
This was just the start for me, I will do at least another 3 dozen, and then it is on to my tomatoes.
Do you can, freeze, pickle? Yes, it can be time consuming, but I feel it is well worth it as I know exactly what is in my produce that I prepared myself, and the taste is so much better than store bought. If you do these things like I do, you know exactly what I am talking about.
As I got my work done, I was able to go into my craft room and spend a few hours playing with my new Holiday Catalogue product, I will share some of what I created very soon.
Okay, on to today’s card, I am sharing one more card using the Sharing Sweet Thoughts Stamp Set, my Straw-Berry Burst card, hehehe, sorry, I couldn’t help myself!
How pretty is the Berry Burst 5/8″ Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon behind my top layers! I know some people are on the fence about this ribbon, I personally love it!!! It is so easy to use, ties really nicely and does not add bulk to your cards, add in the fabulous colours it comes in; Berry Burst, Emerald Envy, Night of Navy and Peekaboo Peach, a clear must have for me!! Why yes, I do own all of them!!
Here are the layers and details for my card:
My base is Thick Whisper White cardstock, it is cut to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″
Berry Burst is cut to 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″
Whisper White is 4-7/8″ x 3-5/8″
Berry Burst 5/8″ Crinkle Seam Binding Ribbon, cut to 12″
Old Olive die cut using the largest oval in the Stitched Shapes Dies
Delicate White Doilies, just a 1/4 of one tucked under the jar
Shimmery White stamped using the Sharing Sweet Thoughts jar, berries and lid.
The colours are as follows; Archival Black ink pad, Old Olive and Berry Burst. I used my Blender Pen to colour in the berries and leaves. I then used my Everyday Jars Framelits to die cut the jar and lid. I also have a piece of Window Sheet and die cut it to layer over top of the stamped jar.
I love the look of my clean and simple card; I hope you do as well.
