Hi everyone!
Welcome to the Creating Kindness Blog Hop, this month our guest designer is the talented Lou Kitzelman.
This month we are all creating fun fold cards, if you have already started the Hop, you have arrived here from my sweet friend Jenny Hall’s Blog.
My card is a fun Bridge Fold/U Fold card. As St. Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, my card is a cute valentine inspired creation.
I used three different stamp sets (all from the Occasions Catalogue) to create my adorable card, my bear is from We Must Celebrate stamp set, the trees and ground are from the Waterfront stamp set and the hearts are from the Sure Do Love You Bundle.
As you can see, my bear is actually juggling the three hearts, I have the hearts arranged so that the say “Be Mine, I’m Yours Always” so darn cute!!
To create the the effect of the hearts being juggled in the air, I used some Silver Metallic Thread, created a circle with it and attached the die cut hearts to it using glue dots.
I attached the hearts and bear (that I coloured with my Crumb Cake combo pack of Stampin’ Blends and then fussy cut out) to the circle using glue dots.
These were then attached to two pieces of Window Sheets that created the bridge on the card front.
I hope you like today’s card, it was created with a very special person in mind, my sweet hubby. February 11 is the 34th anniversary of our first date (yes, we have been together a long time, and I love to celebrate the little things with him!!) and I will be giving it to him on that day, along with some of his favourite treats!
Here are the details and measurements for my card.
Thick Whisper White cardstock, 8″ x 4-1/4″, scored at 1-1/4″, 2-1/2″, 5-1/2″ and 6-3/4″
Shimmery White cardstock, five different pieces; 1 piece cut to just a smidge under 3″ x 4-1/4″, 2 pieces cut to 1-1/4″ x 4-1/4″, 2 pieces cut to just a smidge under 1-1/4″ x 4-1/4″. All of these were given a Soft Sky watercolour wash and the stamped with the ground piece from the Waterfront stamp set in Sahara Sand, and the trees from the same set stamped (stamped off to give it a lighter look) in Old Olive. I adhered the center back and two inside pieces first, then attached the two strips of Window Sheets cut to 1″ x 5-1/2″. My juggling bear and hearts are attached to the window sheets. These were attached to the front panels then the stamped pieces were attached over top of these.
Here is the video I created to go along with today’s blog post.
