Hi everyone, and welcome to another Creating Kindness Blog Hop!
This month our focus is Art Inspiration.
There are so many beautiful works of art out there, as a floral person I chose Van Gogh’s Almond Blossoms to be my inspiration.
I love flowering trees, in fact, I only have two trees in my yard, an Anne Magnolia and a Yellow Bird Magnolia, and both put on a beautiful display of colour in the spring with their bright blooms. I chose both of these trees because of their flowers, if it doesn’t flower, it is not for me.
Okay, back to my card and the reason you are here.
Here is the beautiful Almond Blossom painting by Van Gogh;
And here is my interpretation of it
I thought that the Colorful Seasons Stamp Set (found on page 147 of the Annual Catalogue) was the perfect choice with it’s long branch and spray of flowers.
To create the sky background with it’s different shades of blue, I pulled out some Glossy White Cardstock, my Sponge Brayers and both Pool Party and Marina Mist ink pads. I started by covering the entire background with my Pool Party first, going heavier in areas for a deeper colour, I then went over my background with some Marina Mist, again, going heavier is some areas to give the shading effect to my background.
My branches are stamped with Pear Pizzazz ink and then my blossoms are stamped with Whisper White Craft Ink. I did not put a sentiment on the front of my card as I feel the soft pretty look of my card can be for any occasion that arises.
My measurements for my card are as follows;
Pool Party, 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″
Basic Black, 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″
Glossy White, 5-1/4″ x 4″
All of the products I used to create my card can be purchased in my Online Store, I do appreciate the support you give me and my business xo
Here is the YouTube video for my card.

Wow! You have captured Van Gogh’s style perfectly. Love how the craft white ink makes the flowers translucent and creating an ethereal feel to the whole piece
