Hi everyone!
Welcome to the December Creating Kindness Blog and Video Hop.
This month we our theme is Because We Care.
Each member of the design team has chosen a charity or group to create a project for. I have chosen the Woman’s Rural Resource Centre that is here in my town. It is a wonderful place that provides education, prevention and support services for women and their families impacted by abuse.
As many of the women who stay at the facility have children, the cards I have created today are geared towards children. I will be donating these cards as well as some others I have created along with some daily necessities to the facility.
My cards are actually spinner cards, I attached a piece of fishing line through the center of the front and back images and adhered them to the card base. To get the elephant or lion to spin, you simply twist the animal until you feel it will spin enough when the recipient opens the card. Aren’t they just so cute!!!
I took a bunch of photos of the steps as well as created a video for you to watch to make it easy for you to be able to recreate a spinner card at home.
I placed both my card base and my top layer on my Big Shot, lined them up and die cut the circle out. Doing it this way ensures that the circles will match up.
Next, I placed my card front in the Layered Leaves embossing folder and ran it through the Big Shot.
Next I die cut my circles that will be glued to both the card front and inside to dress up the die cut circle.
As you can see, I glued the fishing line between the front and back images.
Here is the video I created for you to watch.
Here are the measurements for my card;
Thick Whisper White cardstock, cut to 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″
Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, cut to 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ embossed using the Layered Leaves 3D Dynamic TIEF, and my Big Shot
Island Indigo & Sahara Sand cardstock, die cut using the Layering Circles Framelits Dies
My Elephant and Lion are stamped in Tuxedo Black ink onto Thick Whisper White cardstock and then coloured in using my Stampin’ Blends, I dies cut these out using the Little Loves Framelits Dies.
All of the products I used today can be purchased in my Online Store, simply click on the Shop Now button at the top of the page, or click on the image of the item at the bottom of my post.
