Hi everyone!
Welcome to another edition of What Will You Stamp (WWYS), this week I am sharing a cute card I created with fun Bird Banter stamp set.
This punny (I am so clever, ha-ha!!) stamp set can be found on page 42 of the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalogue, besides the great bird images, it has some really cute sentiments (complete with puns!) included in it.
If you like to colour and birds, this stamp set is for you, I just happen to love both!
I chose the two budgie stamps, along with the branch stamp and then built my card around them. I did fussy cut out both birds and the branches (the little branch coming out from the bottom of the larger branch is a separate stamp), I don’t mind fussy cutting. If fussy cutting is not for you, then you could easily mask them to align them properly on the branch.
I chose the largest Stitched Shapes circle (found on page 214 of the Annual catalogue) to make sure I had enough room on it for both of my birds, I used Shimmery White cardstock for this and sponged some Soft Sky ink on it. My birds are stamped in Memento ink as I wanted to use my Stampin’ Blends to colour them in. I chose the Pool Party Combo Pack, the Light Daffodil Delight and Light Pumpkin Pie Blends, you could colour your birds in any colour combinations you chose. I stamped the heart directly on the die cut circle in Real Red ink and then coloured it in with my Real Red Marker. My branches are coloured in with Crumb Cake and Lemon Lime Twist Markers. I thought a sprinkling of the Glitter Epoxy Shapes from the Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes (found on page 33 of the Occasions Catalogue) added just the right amount of sparkle to the card. I attached this layer to a die cut scalloped circle (Layering Circles Framelits Dies, found on page 214 of the Annual Catalogue) piece of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and popped it up using some dimensionals.
I ran the top part of the Whisper White background piece of cardstock through the Big Shot using the Layered Leaves 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (embossing folder for short) as I wanted to stamp my sentiment on the bottom of this and needed a smooth surface. I also ran my strip of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock though this embossing folder as well to carry on with the look of the leaves in the background.
Here are the measurements for my card;
Thick Whisper White cardstock, cut to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″
Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, cut to 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″
Whisper White cardstock, cut to 5-1/4″ x 4″
Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, cut to 4″ x 1-1/2″
Lemon Lime Twist, die cut out using a scalloped circle for the Layering Circles Framelits Dies
Shimmery White cardstock, die cut out using the largest circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Hugs,
Marcy
