Hi everyone!
Thanks for stopping by today!
Today’s card uses the fun Sea Of Textures stamp set and Under The Sea Framelits Dies. This great bundle can be found on page 155 of the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue
How fun is this card with a purple octopus!!
By sponging the octopus stamp in Highland Heather and Coastal Cabana ink I think I have turned Mr Octopus from kinda creepy (at least I think he was..) to super cute and fun!!
I started my card with a Shimmery White card base that I sponged both Highland Heather and Coastal Cabana ink onto. I then used my Aqua Painter and some Coastal Cabana ink to make a funky blob on the middle of the sponged background. I then stamped my sea grass and coral in Highland Heather over top of the lower part of the card, stamping off on a scratch piece of paper first (except for a couple) to get a more subtle look to the images.
I sponged the Highland Heather and Coastal Cabana onto the octopus stamp and then carefully stamped it onto a piece of Vellum, I did the same thing for the one coral stamp. I waited for them to dry completely before die cutting them out as to not smudge the stamped images.
I placed my octopus over the water mark blob using a glue dot. I used the already inked up sponges to ink up my sentiment and stamped it onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock. I then used the same sponge daubers to ink up the sides of that and glued it onto the bottom of the card front. I used a glue dot to adhere the die cut vellum piece of coral right beside my sentiment.
I used the little school of fish die with some Sparkle Glitter paper and die cut them out using my Big Shot. I then glued them around the card front as if the little fishes were swimming around Mr Octopus.
My final touch was to splatter some ink from the Highland Heather and Coastal Cabana markers across the card front.
I just love how this card turned out!!
