Hi everyone!
Today I am here with the Creating Kindness Design Team for our monthly Hop. This month our theme is Rustic and our guest designer is Carolyn van der Straaten, she can be found here; https://carooskaartjes.blogspot.com/
To me, the theme rustic means country, so I pulled out my neglected Wood Words stamp set, Wood Crate Framelits and got to creating.
With all the “wood” named products I used to create my card, maybe I should have called my post Wood! ha-ha
Here is the video I did to go along with my Blog Post;
Pretty easy and cool to get all these textures and elements eh!
Here are the measurements for my card;
Sahara Sand cardstock, cut to 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″
Merry Merlot cardstock, cut to 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″
Sahara Sand cardstock, cut to 5 1/8″ 3 7/8″, I ran this layer through the Big Shot with my Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder. I also used my sponge and some Sahara Sand ink on this layer to give it more depth and dirty it up a bit.
Wood Textures Designer Series Paper, cut to 3″ x 3″, I roughed up two of the corners of this with my scissors. I then spritzed it with my Stampin Spritzer (filled with rubbing alcohol to dry faster) and curled the roughed up corners.
Strip of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon that I frayed the one end of.
1/4″ Copper Trim that I cut open with my scissors and stretched out.
Both the ribbon and trim were then adhered to the DSP
Watercolour Paper, die cut out using a circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies. I did a watercolour wash on this using some Sahara Sand ink and my Aqua Painter. I then stamped my flower spray image in Merry Merlot ink, stamped it off on a scratch piece of paper then stamped it onto the circle.
Scrap pieces or Whisper White and Sahara Sand cardstock that the rooster and greeting were stamped onto.
True Gentleman Button that I threaded some Linen Thread through, tied it in a bow and adhered it to the card front using a glue dot.
All of the products I used can be purchased in my Online Store, I truly appreciate all of your business xo

Marcy, we have used identical products, even down to the pattern in the Wood Textures paper, and the chicken image! I wonder if there is a “Merlot Orpington”?? Love your card, especially those distressed and rolled corners! xxx
