Hi everyone!
Today I have a beautiful Home Decor piece to share with you that uses the Free As A Bird stamp set that can be found on page 92 of the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue. I was inspired by a card I had seen posted from Artisan Design Team member Lauren Alarid, thanks Lauren for the inspiration!
I just love the way this piece turned out, and other than some “fussy cutting” it is so easy to create!
Here are the details and measurements;
Smoky Slate cardstock base that measures 6 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ (to fit inside the IKEA picture frame). To this layer I added some Shimmery White Embossing Paste that I added a drop or two of Smoky Slate Ink Refill, and used the diamond patterned mask from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks. I stamped the sentiment in the bottom right corner in Smoky Slate Classic Ink
My birds are stamped on a piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock in Tuxedo Black ink and then coloured in with the following Stampin’ Blends – Light Smoky Slate, Petal Pink Combo, Flirty Flamingo Combo, Crumb Cake Combo, Granny Apple Green Combo, Light Daffodil Delight
Once I fussy cut the birds out, I applied some Snail Adhesive strategically so my Silver Metallic Thread would have something to stick to, I then applied Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back so it would sit up off the background piece, making sure to cover a couple spots of the metallic thread
Once I figured out my placement of the birds I added a few sequins from the Woven Threads Sequin Assortment to finish it off and popped it in my picture frame
Turing your stamped creations into home decor pieces of art is so much fun, I hope you give it a try as well. If you create something you are proud of, why not pop it in a frame as display it!
