Hi everyone!
Today I am sharing a fun alternative card with you that I created using the December Paper Pumpkin Kit called Lots Of Pun!
When I got this kit I knew I wanted to create a fun card for my brother-in-law’s 60th birthday as he appreciates a good pun, and this kit is so full of them!
The birthday boy (although when you are 60 can you still be called a boy? ha-ha) and his card
My card turned out so cute that I just had to create a second one for my father-in-laws 82nd birthday as it is this week, he really loves a good pun and will get a big kick out of this card!
Here are the measurements for my card;
Crumb Cake cardstock base – 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″ – plus a piece to die cut out the numbers (I die cut them out twice) using the Playful Alphabet Dies
Granny Apple Green cardstock – 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″, plus a piece to die cut out a circle using the Layering Circle Dies – I used the fun new Splatter Embossing Folder (from the Stripes & Splatters 3D Embossing Folders that can be found in the January – June Mini Catalogue) on this piece as I thought it would coordinate perfectly with the card front. This embossing folder will be available to purchase on January 4th from my Online Store
Basic White cardstock – one piece that measures 4″ x 5-1/4″ for the inside of the card, plus a scrap to stamp and fussy cut out the party hat
I opened up one of the envelopes to use the pattern on the inside, my front piece is cut to 4″ x 5-1/4″, the inside strip is about 5/8″ x 5-1/4″, the little Crumb Cake strip is the opposite side of the patterned piece
All the other elements of my card come from the kit.
I stamped some additional splatters on the card front using Cinnamon Cider ink.
I masked the I off inside sentiment so I could write in We to create the We Loaf You instead of I Loaf You, I masked off the one sentiment on the front as well so it would read A Toast To You, more fitting sentiments for my cards
All of the additional supplies I used to create these fun cards can be purchased in my Online Store, please use this month’s Host Code if your order is under $200.00, if it is above this level (before shipping and tax) don’t use the code as you will earn your own rewards through Stampin’ Up!
