Aloha from beautiful Kauai!!
It has been a few days since I have posted as I am on my 25th anniversary trip with my amazing hubby. We boarded our first plane in Toronto Sunday June 8th at 12:00 pm and let me just say that flying Business Class on Air Canada is amazing, I am a terrible traveller as I get motion sickness and am claustrophobic so I need to load up on the gravol, not this time!! Having more leg room and larger seats (only 2 per row) made a huge difference for my tummy, being waited on continually, a TV in the back of every seat, a pillow for your head, your own bathroom for business class seats as well, what a treat it is to fly this way!! After a 5 1/2 hour flight we arrived in LA, they are 3 hours behind us we had a get from one end of the airport to the other in not much time, we were supposed to have 1hr 40 minutes here but that was not the way things turned out and we were a little stressed over it! We had to get from terminal 2 to terminal 7 as fast as possible, a lovely bus driver who was supposed to be off took us to to where we needed to be, Brad tipped her well. We thanked her and then tried to figure out where we needed to be next ( our tickets did not say ) we asked many people along the way if we were headed in the right direction, let me just say that everyone who workes at LAX that we had asked for directions was so very nice and helpful. By the time we got to our gate they had already started boarding, thank goodness we made it!! Our next flight was on a United plane, Business Class was not quite as nice on this plane but the service was, over 5 1/2 hours later we landed in Lihue. It was 7:41 pm local time but our bodies were telling us it was so much later than that as Hawaii is 6 hours behind our time in Ontario so our internal clocks thought it was 1:41 am, yikes, the words jetlag come to mind!!! We had to get our baggage then our rental car, our drive to our hotel was 45 minutes, check into the most beautiful hotel I have ever seen then head to our room, by the time we unpacked it was 11:30 pm here and 5:30 am at home, a very long travel day that is for sure. The scenery here is breathtaking, I have welled up with tears more than a few times as I can not believe we are here on such a beautiful island, I feel so truly blessed. I am going to share a couple of photos with you today of the view from our room, the view from our breakfast table and another little thank you card.
Thank you for reading my very long post today, I really appreciate it!
