Today I am here with the WWYS Design Team (What Will You Stamp) and this week we are showcasing the Vibrant Vases stamp set that can be found on page 23 of the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalogue. This stamp set also coordinates with the Vases Builder Punch that can be found on page 212 of the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue
I am going to give you a little more intimate peak into my life with today’s post and card.
I created my card with a very special recipient in mind to receive it, my daughter. This post is actually a hard one to write as I am opening up to all of you.
My kind, smart, talented daughter suffers from depression and anxiety (yes, I asked her permission to open up about this and share her/our story with all of you), and we as a family have struggled along with her the past few years. Riding the roller coaster right along with her for the highs and lows, supporting her as best we can, never truly understanding what she goes through, but always being there for her. It has been a very long road to get to where we are today, with her trying to create a happy, balanced, productive life for herself. The sentiment I chose for my card is one that really spoke to me, and I hope it will with my daughter as well when she opens her Happy Mail.
I wanted the sentiment to really stand out, so I stamped the vase images randomly across the card front and on the die cut circle, then I heat embossed the sentiment in black. I feel this keeps the message front and center with the vase images as a subtle backdrop to my message to her.
Of course I had to stamp the inside with yet another perfect sentiment for her
Her is how I created my card;
I placed my 3 vases in a pattern I liked on the E Block, and then used a sponge dauber with some Mint Macaron Classic Ink to ink them up
I then stamped them on the card front, repeating the process until I was happy with the way it looked.
The measurements are;
Mint Macaron cardstock base, cut to 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″
Basic Black cardstock, cut to 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″
Mint Macaron cardstock, cut to 5 1/4″ x 4″
Basic Black scrap for die cutting out using a scalloped circle from the Layering Circles Framelits Dies
Mint Macaron scrap for die cutting out using the second largest of the stitched circles from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies
Whisper White cardstock, cut to 5 1/4″ x 4″ for the inside of the card
Thank you so very much for allowing me to tell our story and sharing today’s card with you, I truly appreciate it
