Good Morning Everyone!
How on earth did it get to be April already, it just seems crazy to me that we are into a new month! The snow is melting at a fantastic rate, it is so nice to see the grass, even if it is covered in sand and gravel from the roads, we just need some April showers to wash the dirt away!
Today is my very sweet friend Joanne’s birthday and to celebrate it we are going shopping, how fun is that! Last night I went over to her house and brought her present over as it is very delicate and I didn’t want it to break if she opened it in the car. I found the perfect present in the back of the latest issue of the L.C.B.O.’s Food & Drink magazine, Ukrainian Easter Eggs, so cool I think. I went to the site on Etsy and scoured all the beautiful eggs until I found the perfect one for Joanne. They are all hand painted by an artist in Toronto, the one I bought is called Pysanka with Flowers, I also bought this cute little stand to hold the egg, it really is amazing the talent out there!
The other day I got a surprise in the mail from Stampin’ Up!, a certificate that says I have been promoted to Senior Associate and a gold pin, I am so happy and proud of this accomplishment!!
On to today’s card, its a fancy fold type of card that uses the Scalloped Tag Topper punch. I have seen so many of these cards out there I just had to try it for myself. I watched a video and she said that it was tight to get the paper slid inside the punch as it is two layers of cardstock that you are putting in and boy she was right! I found some patience goes a long way when doing this, as the saying goes “it’s all in the way you hold your tongue”, this saying totally dates me I think as I don’t know that many people say this any more, do they?
You cut your paper 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and fold it over, do not crease it! Holding the sides together slide it into you Scalloped Tag Topper punch (remember it is 2 layers so it will be tight!) make sure it is all the way to the top (flip it over so you can see where the paper is) and punch. Snip off the edges to where the scallop starts and then score it at 4 1/4, this will give you the fold, you can see in the photo how one side is shorter than the other. I hope you can understand my instructions as I don’t have a video, that being said you can always search one out on Youtube.
