Hello everyone from Ottawa!
Brad and I arrived safely after an uneventful 7 hour drive, the first 5 of which I actually drove!
This fact is actually a really big deal as I am a nervous big city driver and Toronto is a very, very big city. I usually avoid doing the driving through any major city when we travel BUT… I said I would drive the first leg of the journey, and Toronto is part of the first leg. That being said, the driving conditions were perfect today for me to tackle the drive. It was overcast, the roads were dry AND we took the 407 to avoid the heavy traffic.
Today’s title explains exactly how I feel being here this weekend. I truly am feeling thankful, grateful and blessed. For my amazing husband wanted to come with me to explore Ottawa with me tomorrow and be part of my Stampin’ Up! journey. For my amazing customers, who I feel have become my dear friends and Stampin’ Up!, the company whose amazing products I have been addicted to since 2002, and am now very proud to represent them as one of their demonstrators!!!
Okay I think I have all of the sappiness out of me now (ha-ha, who am I kidding, I am a big emotional sap and can always produce more!!). The card I am sharing with you tonight is one I created after being inspired by a card Patty Bennett shared. I thought her card was beautiful and I wanted to try my hand at creating one. I changed the colours and sentiment as well I used some Copper Foil Sheets, where she used Pumpkin Pie Glimmer Paper. I love the way my card turned out.
Here is a close up of the leaves on my card. And the full version. To create the effect on the leaves I took a full sheet of Watercolor Paper and applied a thin coat of water over the entire sheet using a paint brush, I then used my reinkers and added the ink in different areas of the paper, letting them blend in together. I then set it aside to dry, I then took my Gold Wink of Stella pen and flicked spots across the entire surface, creating little gold splatter dots. I used my Botanical Builder Framelts and Leaflets Framelits to cut out a variety of leaves.
Like I said at the start, I love the way my card turned out, and I hope the recipient of my card liked it as well.
Thanks for stopping by!
Hugs,
Marcy
