Hi everyone!
Today I am here with the Creating Kindness Design Team for our monthly Blog Hop, this month our theme is The Great Outdoors, if you are following along with the Hop then you have arrived here from the very talented Liz Yuille’s Blog
To be honest, I completely forgot about this month’s hop, not sure how when we have been doing our hop on the first Thursday of the month for over 3 years now…. anyway, that left me scrambling here at the cottage with the little supplies I did bring once I realized I had forgotten!
Here is my interpretation of this months theme
I just love how this card turned out, so soft and subtle with a touch of glitter!
For my card I pulled out the fabulous new Cloche Dies that coordinate with the Classic Cloche stamp set (both can be found on page 22 of the Holiday Mini Catalogue), I paired the dies with the Silver Foil 12″ x 12″ Specialty Pack (pg 23 of the Holiday Mini), Peaceful Place 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper, Subtle Shimmer Sequins (both can be found on pg 37 of the Holiday Mini), 1/8″ Metallic Mesh (pg 140 Annual Catalogue), my go to dies for their fabulous label die – Hippo & Friends Dies (pg 163 Annual Catalogue), Vellum and Basic Gray cardstock
Here are the measurements for my card;
Basic Gray cardstock base – 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5-1/2″
Basic Gray cardstock – one piece that measures 4″ x 5-1/4″, one piece to die cut out the label from the Hippo & Friends Dies, and a scrap to stamp the sentiment on (I used Basic Gray ink), my sentiment is from the Heartfelt Wishes (pg 57 Holiday Catalogue), I masked off the & with a piece of tape (don’t forget to remove it before stamping!) as I didn’t want it as part of the sentiment on my card
Peaceful Place DSP (Designer Series Paper) – 4″ x 5-1/4″
Vellum cardstock – a piece to die cut out the label from the Hippo & Friends Dies
Silver Foil Specialty Pack – one piece of the darkest sheet to die cut out the trees from the Cloche Dies, and the middle toned sheet to die cut out the two snow banks using the Cloche Dies
My bow is created by cutting a piece of the 1/8″ Metallic Mesh in half so it is not as thick, giving it a daintier look
I sprinkled 5 of the frosted sequins from the Subtle Shimmer Sequins across the front of my card to finish it off
All of the items I used are now available in my Online Store, please use this months Host Code if your order is under $200, at the $200 mark you get your own rewards from Stampin’ Up!

Wow Marcy … such a fabulous card for something “thrown together with supplies you had on hand while away”. I love the gingham background, which looks like real fabric. xx

Thanks Cheryll, that DSP is fabulous isn’t it! Hugs, Marcy

I have been looking at the Cloche dies wondering how to use them ‘outside’ the cloche, and now you have inspired me to give it a go. I love this card! Lx
Marcy says
Thank you Liz, the dies are fabulous aren’t they! Hugs, Marcy
