Today’s card uses a stamp set that has been gathering dust on my shelf I am afraid.
Crafting Forever, when it first came out in the Annual Catalogue, I just had to have it! I used it in a class or two last year, then put it on the shelf and forgot all about it, sigh….. tell me I am not the only one that does this, please!!!
Since joining the What Will You Stamp? Challenge Blog Design Team I have been showing much more love to stamp sets that I had forgotten about! I just love that about being part of this awesome team, I am forced to pull out stamps and play with them again!!
I used the watercolour smooshing technique my friend Jenny did on a card last week. Unfortunately I did not think to take a photo of this so I hope you understand how to do it by my explaining.
You take your Silicone Craft Sheet and put a drop or two of re-inker on it, dilute it with some water and then spread it around into a basic shape using a Aqua Painter. Then take your piece of cardstock and place it on top of the ink and lightly press it into the ink. Carefully lift it off and use a paper towel to absorb the excess. I think it looks pretty cool!!
I used my Fine Tip Glue Pen to make the paint brushes, exacto knife and pencil look glossy after I coloured them with my Aqua Painter, I think it just gives them a little more definition. Yes, I did fussy cut the image out, I wanted it to really pop off the background. I thought it needed something else in between the background and the pot with crafting tools, so I ran some snail on the card front to attach some Black Metallic Thread.
A few Glitter dots from the Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes across the front finishes it off nicely!
Here are the dimensions for today’s card;
Thick Whisper White cardstock, cut to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″
Basic Black cardstock, cut to 5-1/4″ x 4″
Shimmery White cardstock, cut to 5-1/8″ x 3-7/8″
Shimmery White cardstock scrap that the image is stamped and fussy cut out.
